Homewood Fire Department hosts blood drive Saturday

The Homewood Fire Department is hosting a blood drive Saturday, Feb. 2. Staff from Vitalant will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the fire station, 17950 Dixie Highway.
 

Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. Donors help replenish the supply.

Walk-ins are welcome, but scheduled appointments are being accepted at vitalant.org. The group code is 545W. Or, call 877-258-4825.
 
According to Vitalant, blood donations are used to save an estimated 12,000 lives a day. Medical care we take for granted, from giving birth to fighting cancer, wouldn’t be possible without blood donations.
