Flossmoor Station Restaurant and Brewery is responding to this week’s brutal temperatures by offering discounts commensurate with the Arctic chills.

For every low in the negative teens or below, Flossmoor Station will match that amount in percentage discounts on all food and drinks. Flossmoor Station offers a variety of its own craft beers, as well as cold-weather comfort foods like Brew Kettle Chili and Beer Cheese Soup.

Dean Armstrong, who owns Flossmoor Station with his wife Carolyn, said Tuesday that the day’s projected low temperature is 23 degrees below zero.

That means patrons can enjoy 23 percent off their bill by telling the wait staff or bartender “that they need some polar vortex relief,” Armstrong said.

“After all, we’re all in this together, and before too long, it’ll be opening day for the Sox,” he said.

The low temperature and associated discount will be set each morning based on daily forecasts from WGN-TV’s Tom Skilling, who Armstrong called “the world’s best weatherman.”

Flossmoor Station is located at 1035 Sterling Ave. in downtown Flossmoor. More information is available at www.flossmoorstation.com or by calling 708-957-2739.
