Beautiful voices fill the room at ‘That’s Amore!’ benefit

Marian Catholic High School named four students from Homewood and Flossmoor for recognition at its Fall Academic Awards Banquet on Oct. 24. The young people received academic letters honoring them as students who maintained perfect 4.0 grade point averages for two consecutive semesters.The students included:

  • Junior Alexandria Davis, Flossmoor 
  • Junior Thomas Klupchak Jr., Flossmoor 
  • Junior Ryan Taylor, Homewood 
  • Sophomore Amaiya Torian, Homewood

The students from Homewood and Flossmoor were among 98 students to receive academic letters.  . . .

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
