Cancer Support Center hosts Texas Hold’em fundraiser Feb. 2

Community members, administrators and staff in Homewood School District 153 were selected as 2019 winners of the “Those Who Excel” award presented by the Illinois State Board of Education.
 
The ISBE recognized them at an Oct. 19 banquet. The awards honor those affiliated with the district who made outstanding contributions to the schools and district students.

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
