The Wildcats, coming off a close loss against Lincoln Way Central 40-38 on Jan. 4, managed to keep up with H-F for the first three quarters with a score of 41-36.
H-F broke away in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Wildcats by eight points.
Junior DeMarco Minor led Thornton with 20 points and six threes.
Pack the Gym night started at 4 p.m. Play opened with the unified team. The sophomore basketball team followed as a warm-up to the varsity game.
Marian Catholic got their revenge against H-F when they beat them 52-45 to win the 2018 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic on Dec. 26.
