Ballantrae community’s holiday tradition solidifies neighborhood strength

The Flossmoor Fire Department was awarded a $222,345 federal grant to purchase updated emergency breathing equipment that will make firefighters safer when entering burning buildings.  The Assistance to Firefighters Grant was announced by Rep. Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
