H-F High gets commendable rating in Illinois Report Card ranking

The ongoing battle over Calumet Country Club hasn't been easy and it won't find a simple conclusion. That was the message Homewood officials provided to about 100 residents at a special meeting Wednesday night held to address the latest updates about attempts to disconnect the property from the village.

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
