Coyote Run dumps electric golf carts in favor of gas

Kyla Davis doesn’t have a driver’s license, but that didn’t stop her from racing around a special course in a converted refrigerator!  Homewood-Flossmoor High  School junior Kyla Davis was  excited to drive the Orange  Flare team car down the track  in the ComEd Icebox Derby  program. (Provided photo)

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
