Olympia Fields Park District will offer a bus tour on Thursday,  Sept. 19, providing an opportunity to learn about the local history of the Underground Railroad.The tour will begin at 9:30 a.m. The registration deadline is Sept. 10. The cost is $80 per person, which includes lunch and transportation. Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
