State designates Parker Junior High as ‘underperforming’

Four contestants were given a time limit of 20 minutes to consume 11 ounces of frozen yogurt on Saturday, Aug. 10, during Forever Yogurt's five-year anniversary celebration. 

They didn't need that long.Three of the four had clean plates in about a minute.

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
