Fall Fairy wins the Homewood scarecrow contest

A Flossmoor resident was assaulted and robbed during an attempted carjacking at his home on Thursday, police said. The incident was reported at about 5:30 p.m. on May 30 in the 1400 block of Kinross Street, Flossmoor police said in an email alert to the community. According to police, the resident arrived home to find a suspicious vehicle and a male subject attempting to enter a locked vehicle parked in his driveway.
