Flossmoor residents, guests enjoy a day of community spirit at Flossmoor Fest

For the second week in a row, Flossmoor Station Restaurant and Brewery, 1035 Sterling Ave. in Flossmoor, is hosting a watch party from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, May 6, to cheer on  Flossmoor’s own Oliv Blu as she competes on NBC’s “The Voice.” “We’re so excited to support a Flossmoor musician on such a national scale,” said Flossmoor Station Owner Carolyn Armstrong. “As a member of the Flossmoor community, you can’t help but be proud of what she has already accomplished.”Homewood-Flossmoor High School alumna Blu is one of . . .

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
