District 233 school board will consider approval for H-F Fine Arts Center

Police in Homewood began using a new body and in-car camera system in March. Chief Bill Alcott and Deputy Chief Denise McGrath made a presentation on the new equipment to the village board at its April 23 meeting. “The biggest thing is that it will provide and improve the transparency and accountability (of the department) while strengthening public trust,” Alcott said. “There’s a question about law enforcement today.   • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
