Construction crews have poured the foundation for a new home in Flossmoor, one of only a few residences to be built in the village in recent years.
The new home is going up at 1614 Berwick Court in Flossmoor’s Ballantrae neighborhood.
Scott Bugner, the village’s inspectional services manager, said Tuesday that the home is being built by a developer. When completed, it will be a two-story structure with a basement and attached garage. According to its plans, the house will have 3,479 square feet of living space.
Only three other new homes have been built on vacant land in Flossmoor since 2013, Bugner said. They are located on the 2200 block of Marston Lane, Thornwood Court and on the 1700 block of Sylvan Court.
The developer of the new house on Berwick also owns the remaining five lots in Ballantrae, Bugner said. He said it’s his understanding is that the developer may also build those lots as well “but has yet to submit any plans for such.”
Bugner said he believes construction of the new home will be completed in November.
