Lansing native is Homewood’s 41st police officer

On Tuesday, April 16, students living within the Homewood-Flossmoor High School district boundaries can register for summer driver’s education. Registration will be held in the North Building cafeteria from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Registration is open for students who have already completed the classroom requirement as well as for students who will be age 16 before Nov. 1, 2019, and need both classroom and behind-the-wheel sessions.  Driving time slots are limited, so participants will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis. Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
