H-F theater students to present ‘Theory of Relativity’ Aug. 16, 17 and 18

“The Theory of Relativity,” a new chamber musical, will be performed at 7 p.m. Aug. 16, 17 and 18 by students in the Leaders on Theatre Ensemble at Homewood-Flossmoor High School.

The musical explores the notion that all people are intricately interconnected; that our personal journeys can have profound effects on those with whom we come into contact, from our intimate partners to complete strangers. Through songs and monologues, performers will create an array of characters whose lives intersect as they explore the unfolding mysteries and adventures in their lives.

This production is directed by J.R. Rose, English and Fine Arts teacher. He has selected this play to be performed by H-F at the 2019 Illinois High School Theatre Festival. In 2018, H-F students won second place in state for their production of “Ernest and the Pale Moon” in the IHSA contest play competition, and the play’s technical crew won top honors for its technical performance.

Performances will be in the Mall Auditorium at the high school. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students, children and senior citizens.
