The 22nd annual Diversity Dinners event will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Rich South High School. At this year's buffet dinner, Troy Cicero of MulticultuReal Communications will facilitate discussions with the theme, “Let’s Continue the Conversation.” With Cicero's guidance, the evening will invoke meaningful, informed and inspiring conversations among community members. Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
