Downtown dogs on display as SSHS fundraiser moves to Flossmoor

The Homewood-Flossmoor League of Women Voters will sponsor a candidate forum at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, for the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District board. The session will be at The Clubhouse at the corner of 183rd Street and Governors Highway. Incumbent Steve Johnson is on the ballot along with Brit Violini and Linda Ojode. Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
