Ad insertion order for September special section — vegan dining

A special presentation of “From Dreams to Drama: Remembering Lorraine” will be performed by the Homewood-Flossmoor High School Group Interpretation team at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 14, in the Mall Auditorium. Group interpretation is a competitive 30-minute drama performance. This play tells the story of Lorraine Hansberry and her efforts writing the play “A Raisin in the Sun.” Performers are on a stage with minimal accoutrements and they wear a uniform costume.   • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
