Most recently, Goble worked as president and CEO of Indiana University Health’s north central region, which comprises three hospitals, 2,000 employees and $1.2 billion in revenue. Prior to that, he led IU Health’s LaPorte Regional Health System.

Goble will succeed Kurt Johnson, who is retiring June 30 after nearly 40 years in health care administration and more than 30 years of service to Ingalls. Goble will start work at Ingalls on  Monday, June 25.  He will work closely with the Ingalls leadership team and with Johnson to ensure a seamless transition.

A native of Paw Paw, Illinois, Goble earned an undergraduate degree in biology from Illinois Wesleyan University, followed by a master’s degree in health administration from Tulane University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Iowa. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, and an active supporter of various civic organizations, including the Boy Scouts of America.

“I look forward to working closely with Jonathan as we further integrate Ingalls and UChicago Medicine following the merger in late September 2016, and continue to grow to help our patients and the communities we collectively serve,” said Kenneth S. Polonsky, dean and executive vice president for medical affairs at the University of Chicago. “We welcome Jonathan to the University of Chicago Medicine family and thank Kurt for his enormous contributions to Ingalls.”
