One person was injured in a one-vehicle crash Thursday evening on Riegel Road in Homewood.
The vehicle struck a utility pole in the 18100 block, according to police. Homewood police and fire units responded to the scene after receiving the call shortly after 6:30 p.m.
The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
The driver was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. The driver’s identity was not released.
Power was out for a short time until ComEd crews could respond.
