Foreclosed and vacant properties in Homewood will now be part of an online registry.  The village board passed an ordinance at its Nov. 13 meeting to work with Florida-based Prochamps. The firm works with towns to create a database of information that can be used to communicate with the lenders and owners of vacant properties.   • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
