A Flossmoor teenager was charged with three weapons-related felonies less than 24 hours after shots were fired at an intersection in the village, police said. The 17-year-old male was arrested at his home at 1:20 p.m. on Sept. 29, and is in custody as a juvenile in the Cook County court system, Flossmoor Deputy Chief Tod Kamleiter said Monday. The youth is facing charges of aggravated custody of a weapon, aggravated assault and unlawful use of a weapon. Kamleiter said witnesses provided information that made it possible to locate both the victims . . .

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.
