Home rule question will be decided Tuesday

Homewood-Flossmoor High School students, alumni and community supporters had plenty to cheer about on Friday, Sept. 7, as the Vikings football team won the homecoming game 46-0.It was the third victory in the young season for the Vikings. The team welcomed Stagg High School for the first of only four seasonal games to be played at H-F.  Despite two sacks against the Vikings, Stagg never got its game going. Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
