Runners, volunteers needed for special recreation 5K

The seven-member District 233 school board has a vacancy following the Aug. 24 resignation of board member Tim Wenckus who stepped down due to new work obligations.    Tim Wenckus Persons interested in filling his seat on the board have until Sept. 7 to apply. The new board member will serve until the April 2, 2019, election. Wenckus would have been up for re-election for another four-year term.Wenckus, of Homewood, was first elected to the board in 2013.
