Planned Parenthood services, secrecy unnecessary

The Parker Solar Probe, named for former Flossmoor resident Eugene Parker, successfully began its long journey to the sun at 2:31 a.m. central time on Sunday, Aug. 12.

Parker will be the speaker at the Homewood Historical Society's Sept. 12 meeting, 7 p.m. at Homewood Public Library.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
