Glenwood Academy’s ‘Taste of Glenwood’ is March 9

More than four dozen brightly colored chairs are on display throughout Homewood as part of  the “Chairs for a Purpose” fundraiser for the Cancer Support Center. They will be auctioned off through online bidding. 

Some chairs celebrate Homewood, others have a beach theme or a love theme. They’re decorated with animals, flowers and colorful patterns . . .

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
