The Homewood-Flossmoor High School Inspirational Voices Ensemble will present a PEACE concert at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at Woodland Community Church, 18301 Governors Highway in Homewood.
The ensemble’s director, Ivan Davenport, will lead students in their effort to show H-F High’s Vikings Values of PEACE — perseverance, emphathy, awareness, compassion and effort.
Joining them in the Black History Month celebration will be the Victory Apostolic Church F.Y.R.E. Choir directed by Shannon Lowe and the Trinity United Church of Christ Youth Choirs directed by Bryan Johnson. The master of ceremonies will be Big Dre, the Christian comedian.
A Chicago Freedom Movement photo exhibit will be on display in the church lobby in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Fair Housing Act.
