Drama Group presents musical version of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ in March

The classic children’s tale “Little Red Riding Hood” will be performed by The Drama Group March 21 through 25.

This musical adaptation is designed especially for children, whether they are at school, home schooled or at daycare and their families.

“We’re introducing live theater to young children,” said director Charlie Misovye.

The story will follow the traditional story line about the little girl who wore a red riding cloak and got the nickname “Little Red Riding Hood.” She left her village to see her grandmother. She carried a basket of goodies from grandma and headed out the door hearing her mother warn her not to stray from the path.

The story’s narrator is Warren Sampson of Homewood who is joined by a cast of six actors.

This show will be presented at 9:30 a.m. and noon on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, March 21, 22 and 23; at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 24; and at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, at the Drama Group’s Milord Studio Theatre, 330 W. 202nd St. in Chicago Heights.

Advance tickets are $6 or a reduced price of $5 each for groups of 25 or more. Tickets can be purchased through the box office at 708-755-3444. Tickets at the door are $7.  For additional information, visit dramagroup.org.
