State rolls back LLC fees

Michaela Reid, a graduating senior at Homewood-Flossmoor High School, is the recipient of the Chick Evans Scholarship for golf caddies.   Michaela Reid The scholarship covers full tuition and housing for four years. The Evans Scholars Foundation selects students based on their strong caddie record, excellent grades, outstanding character and financial need. Reid will use the scholarship to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Reid remembers her caddie training experience when she was 14 and ready for eighth grade at James Hart School in Homewood. Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
