White Christmas looks likely

The 23 Miles South Theatre in Homewood will present The Tony Stanzas musical improv team in a benefit performance at 7 p.m. Friday, May 25, on the lower level stage at St. Paul Community Church, 18200 Dixie Highway in Homewood. The Tony Stanzas will take suggestions at the opening of the show and create a fully-improvised musical right in front of your eyes, according to Dawn Peloso, director of 23 Miles South. “Everything from the music to the lyrics to the dancing to the scene work is improvised,” she said. Tickets are $10 and are . . .

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
