A wet but wonderful wedding

Guests are invited to hear interesting stories delivered on Tuesday, May 15, by five storytellers at Homewood Stories.  Ravisloe Country Club, 18231 Park Ave., is the location for this monthly session. Food will be available starting at 6 p.m. The program opens at 7:30 p.m. Story tellers include Elyse Miller of Glenwood; Diggsy Twain of Chicago; Jon Parrish of Hammond, Indiana; Madeline O’Malley of Chicago; and Karen O’Donnell of Homewood, the founder and curator of the monthly storytelling event. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
