H-F students start work on newest sculpture

The Homewood Public Works Department will have a new tool to help monitor village assets and manage work flow if the board of trustees approves a $28,500 contract with Dude Solutions of Cary, North Carolina, for a cloud-based system.According to John Schaefer, director of public works, the new system is expected to be easier to use and more flexible than the current system. Mobile devices will provide crews the capability to monitor assets like street lights, HVAC systems and manhole covers, plus track work orders, timelines and cost.In other business, trustees will consider

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
