Marian Lazan reaches the young generation

Aaron Carlin resigned his post as director of the Flossmoor Public Library last week. 
  Aaron CarlinLibrary Board President Anne Thiros on Tuesday, May 1, confirmed that Carlin had resigned and that he was no longer at the library. 
Thiros told the H-F Chronicle that “Aaron and the library board had different visions for the library.” She declined to elaborate on those differences. 
“The library board and staff wish Aaron the best in his future endeavors," Thiros said. 
Kathy Parker has been named interim director while the search for a permanent replacement . . .

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
