The Homewood board of trustees will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, to allow residents to comment on the village’s 2018-19 budget.

Finance Director Dennis Bubenik will present information about the $39.5 million budget. Because the village is on a two-year budget cycle, the 2018-19 budget mostly involves fine-tuning the current plan, he said.

Following the budget hearing, the board will convene in regular session to discuss a liquor license request from Spread Pizza at 3325 183rd St.

The board is expected to adopt a resolution honoring Harry Hammock for his service to the village as he retires from the Department of Public Works and a resolution marking Arbor Day.

In other business, the board will consider:

  • The annual report of the Senior Advisory Committee.
  • An ordinance providing for the sale of property owned by the village, including office desks and file cabinets that are no longer required.
  • A budget amendment to increase the Washington Park Plaza sales tax incentive by $32,5955.
  • Reject three separate bid processes, one for uniform and floor mat cleaning, one for purchase of crushed limestone and one for purchase of asphalt. In each case, an insufficient number of bids were received.
The board will meet in village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road.
