UpsaDaisy purchases to benefit H-F Orchestra trip

A Homewood business has agreed to donate 20 percent of sales on Thursday to help underwrite the Homewood-Flossmoor High School Orchestra’s trip to Germany.

UpsaDaisy Boutique at 18100 Martin Ave., has set 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 16, as its special donation day.

This is one in a series of fundraisers organized to help the orchestra meet expenses. Its major fundraiser will be the annual auction set for Jan. 20.

An estimated 55 students will be representing the Viking Orchestra and Symphonia Orchestra on the seven-day trip leaving March 22 for Berlin. The musicians will perform in Potsdam, Brandenburg in the Berlin region and Pegau, a city in the Leipzig district. They also will be participating in workshops and exchange opportunities in Leipzig.

The 2018 H-F orchestra tour is sponsored by the Homewood-Flossmoor Fine and Performing Arts Council Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting the fine arts at H-F.
