A body was found Wednesday after fire swept through a home in Flossmoor.

Firefighters discovered the body of a male on the lower level of a home in the 2000 block of Collett Lane, according to a news release issued by Flossmoor Fire Chief Chris Sewell. The man is still not identified, Sewell said.

The fire was reported at approximately, 12:45 p.m. on Feb. 28. Flossmoor police and fire units responded to a report of a residential structure fire.

When they arrived, officers and firefighters found a home “fully involved by fire,” Sewell said. Fire crews entered the home and the fire was extinguished.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The investigation is being conducted by the State Fire Marshal’s office along with investigators from the Flossmoor police and fire departments.

There were no injuries to any emergency personnel, Sewell said.
