Sunrise October 2017

Volunteers willing to have their heads shaved to raise money for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation childhood cancer research can join others at GoodSpeed Cycles on March 25. The event also includes a raffle and auction.

The St. Baldrick’s event starts at 1 p.m. at the store at 2125 W. 183rd St. in Homewood. There are still openings for volunteers to help raise funds and shave their heads. To register, visit www.st.baldricks.org/events/goodspeedcycles2018.

The GoodSpeed Cycles inaugural event has set a $5,000 fundraising goal. Homewood and Flossmoor businesses have generously donated items to be used in raffles and silent auctions. Any business interested in making a donation of goods or services to be used as part of the event can contact Chris Bednarek at [email protected] or 708-646-8649.

All proceeds will be donated to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest private funder of children’s cancer research. Donations raised at events have made it possible for St. Baldrick’s to fund more than $232 million to support childhood cancer research.
