Germany is new destination for H-F Orchestra’s spring trip

Grace Hodges of Homewood and Catherine Jaicks and Jeremy Miller of Flossmoor have been named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester at The College of Wooster having achieved a grade point average of 3.65 or above.Hodges, a senior anthropology major; Jaicks, a senior music major; and Miller, a senior economics major, are all graduates of Homewood-Flossmoor Community High School. The College of Wooster, founded in 1866, offers mentored undergraduate research. Every Wooster senior works one-on-one with a faculty adviser to create an original research project, written work, performance or art exhibit . . .

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
