Flossmoor Baseball and Softball (FBBSB) is introducing a baseball hitting league this fall. The program, which is being offered for the first time, will take place from Nov. 4 to Dec. 14 in the Homewood-Flossmoor High School Field House.
The weekly program will focus on situational hitting. Each two-hour session format will include 40 minutes of hitting and instruction, 40 minutes of competition and 40 minutes of performance training.
Registration for the hitting league and the 2018 season begins Oct. 15. FBBSB offers programs for players as young as 4 and as old as high school sophomores.
FBBSB’s in-house baseball league runs from April to the end of June. Fees are based on age and range between $65 and $140 for programs from t-ball to Pony League. Fees cover costs for uniforms, practices and games.
Tryouts for FBBSB traveling teams start in December. FBBSB has a competitive Firebird travel program. The 12 and under team makes a trip to Cooperstown every year.
Winter workouts for FBBSB take place from January to March. Opening day for the 2018 season is April 21.
