The Infant Jesus of Prague Parish in Flossmoor is hosting its annual Block Party Fundraiser from 5 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, on the church grounds, Douglas Avenue at Flossmoor Road.
Organizing chair Carlo Gozzi said the event will have something for all ages, including games for kids, an obstacle course, face painting, live entertainment and a variety of food options.
The parish is also hosting a split-the-pot raffle.
Food will be available from four food trucks. Los Portales of Chicago Heights will host a taco bar. Joey’s Red Hots of Orland Park will provide beef sandwiches, Chicago style hot dogs and more. Mediterranean Express of Chicago is providing shawarma, vegan and gluten free options. American Glory of Chicago will be serving BBQ and gourmet mac and cheese.
Craft beers from Flossmoor Station, Blue Island Brewery and Vice District will be served. Specialty cocktails also will be available.
Entertainment will be provided by the band “Not My Dad” from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by “Field Day” performing from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
The Block Party Planning Committee is chaired by Gozzi working with members Dan Zeman, Leslie Newhuis, Karyn Lewis, Dee Pietrzak, Rev. Edmond Aristill and Rev. Jack Jura.
