Ice arena’s upcoming fixes on park district’s agenda

A municipal law specialist will be the guest speaker at 7 p.m. on Feb. 1 when the village of Homewood hosts an information meeting about home rule at the Marie Irwin Center, 18120 Highland Ave. in Homewood.Homewood voters will be asked to consider approving home rule status for the village in the March 20 election.  The speaker at the meeting will be Patrick A. Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
