Hurricane Harvey fundraiser, collection planned at Flossmoor Station

Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery is holding a fundraiser Tuesday for victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas. The establishment is also collecting clothing and other needed supplies that will be sent to the Houston area this week.

Dean Armstrong, who owns Flossmoor Station with his wife Carolyn, announced the fundraiser on Sunday.

“We are working together as a community to provide relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey victims in Texas,” Armstrong said in an email.

On Tuesday, Sept. 5, Flossmoor Station will donate 25 percent of all proceeds to local charities in Texas in the form of gift cards for supplies needed, Armstrong said.

The restaurant is also collecting clothes of all sizes, including underwear and socks, school supplies, shoes, blankets, toiletries and personal hygiene products, diapers and pet food.

That collection will continue until Thursday, Sept.7.  All donations will be trucked to local charities in the Houston area at the end of the week.

Flossmoor Station is located at 1035 Sterling Ave.
