Local temple and mosque offer Day of Service opportunity

To celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., the Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University is presenting “Lift Every Voice,” a musical celebration, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21. This program will feature soprano Kimberly Jones, tenor Cornelius Johnson and baritone Adrian Dunn with Paul Hamilton on piano. The program marks the black experience through opera, Broadway musicals, spirituals and art songs. The program’s host will be John Concepcion, a Lyric Opera tenor and curator of the center’s “Opera Up Close” series. Seating will be on the center’s stage . . .
