Fratello’s expands deli business with new shop on Halsted Street

The Cancer Support Center invites the community to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, for the new location of its Mokena center at 19645 LaGrange Road. Those wishing to attend are asked to register with staff by calling 708-478-3529.  This new space triples the size of the center and will allow the Cancer Support Center to provide a greater number of programs and services. Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
