The gingerbread house — a sign of the holiday season — was the class project for second graders at Willow School on Thursday, Dec. 14. Teacher Heather Fraser said the craft project is a long-standing tradition. Parents pitch in by providing the makings of the gingerbread house. The children work in teams of four with a parent volunteer to supervise. After building the house from graham crackers, the children are given an ice cream cone that can be turned into a tree, Peeps (they’re not just for Easter!), marshmallows, pretzels and candy galore.
