H-F theater students present “Serial” as first performance of the year

The community is invited to Homewood-Flossmoor High School from 8 to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20, for a community coffee. The gathering will be in the district office in the South Building, 999 Kedzie Ave. in Flossmoor. The program is designed as an informal way for residents to meet with administrators and staff to discuss general H-F High issues and get their questions answered. This is the first of eight community coffees.  The others are set for 8 to 9 a.m. Jan. 17, Feb. 13, March 14, April 11 and May . . .

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
