‘Harriet the Spy’ performed Friday and Saturday in Homewood

Homewood’s 23 Miles South Theatre will present three performances of “Harriet the Spy” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 11 and 12.
 
The cast will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a dinner/theatre package available. The play will also be performed at 3 and 7 p.m.* on Saturday. Performances are at St. Paul Community Church, 18200 Dixie Highway.
 
Tickets for the Friday and Saturday performances are $12 for adults and $8 for children and senior citizens. The dinner/theatre package starts at 6 p.m. with catering by Jimboo’s featuring chicken, beef, ravioli, potato, vegetables and salad. Dinner/theatre tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for children.
 
Based on a book by Louise Fitzhugh, the play is suitable for all ages. The play focuses on Harriet M. Welch, a child and a spy who observes the people around her and writes about them in a notebook. When the notebook is discovered, her sometimes mean and often blunt observations of friends and classmates lead to a ruckus at school and people turn against her.
 
This production is under the direction of Dawn Peloso of Homewood. 
 
Cast members are Emma Anderson, Gina Bonanotte, Bill Colton, Bob Colton, Maggie Colton, Morgan Davenport, Laila Dyer, Destiny Hall, Rosie Joyce, Roxie Joyce.
