Homewood Culver’s gets books for kids from Cook County Farm Bureau

The Cook County Farm Bureau is sharing a message about agriculture with young readers through a “book barn” program at Culver’s Restaurant, 850 W. 183rd St. in Homewood.

The book barn is filled with books that bring agricultural learning to a child’s perspective, while teaching kids where the food they are enjoying comes from. It is part of a Culver’s national initiative. The books can be borrowed and read during mealtime at the restaurant.

“We even have coloring books which will keep the little ones busy, while giving parents a chance to provide a bit of agricultural education as everyone is enjoying a delicious meal together,” said Bona Heinsohn, Cook County Farm Bureau director of governmental affairs and public relations.

“Every time we say ‘Welcome to delicious,’ we express our passion for fresh, wholesome food,” says Jack Rush, co-owner of Culver’s in Homewood.
