South Suburban College, 15800 S. State St. in South Holland, is offering a substitute teacher class in the fall semester.
Participants will learn techniques that will help in the classroom, including how to create a learning environment, teaching strategies for working with multiple learning styles and creating a lesson plan and activities.
No prior teaching experience is necessary. Each participant must be at least 21 years old and must be a high school or GED graduate.
Class meets from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 19 through Oct. 26, in room 3351 on campus. Space is limited.
A workbook, required for the course, is available through the college’s bookstore.
